I thought I had a take on irony and sarcasm, but when Julius announced that his new party was to be named the Economic Freedom Fighters, I realised that I was totally inferior. I was really shown flames when my self proclaimed irony abilities were put down as Julius announced that the Economic Freedom Fighters based their association on anti corruption principles or something like that. ROTFLMFARO. In any event, this new party is going to take over South Africa, according to Julius, and redistribute the land like they did in Zimbabwe. OK...
But there are some real problems we are facing in SA. Problems like the Lonmin platinum debacle, and the National Union of Mineworkers losing their court action to prevent the loss of its recognition and in turn thousands of its members to rival union AMCU. But is that an ugly shadow lurking behind the whole issue? Is the Democratic Socialist Movement stirring the pot? I bet Julius knows, he's going to be taking over soon so he must know. This does affect our economic freedom after all does it not? Let us not distract ourselves with a few million or billion spent on a cattle kraal in Zululand, there is so much more where that came from, let's look at our economy, the Economic Freedom Fighters are here to save us all. So Julius is obviously aware that the South African Rand has dropped in value against the world currency giant, the dollar, to the tune of eighteen per cent. Even the Reserve Bank Governor Gill Marcus looks nervous in all her most recent photos.
The news that our auditor general was given a one million Rand pay increase is good news, even better is the news that it is to be backdated by six years. Wow, things must be looking up if we can afford that, surely? Julius' job wont be so difficult after all.
More seriously Israel and Turkey are all hush hush about who exactly it was that flew a fighter jet from a Turkish base, into Syria and destroyed a stockpile of Yakhont anti-ship missiles. Both countries are not saying anything and the rebels say it wasn't them. If it were Israel, then it would be the fourth attack on Syrian soil this year. Ask any Israeli and they will tell you that they do not want a nation in turmoil, with known links to terrorist organizations, to be in possession of missiles. I think they would all agree on this point.
At one point I thought I knew what was going on in Syria, now I am just totally confused and revert back to my default decision that it is just war for war's sake, oh and the money of course
