The KwaDukuza Municipality Staff Excellence Awards Program recognises a selected number of exceptional staff and administration employees who demonstrate a commitment to the pursuit of excellence and a level of performance that exceeds the values and standards of the Municipality.
Selected winners are honoured at the KwaDukuza Municipality Staff Excellence Awards Ceremony with a certificate presentation and a trophy award. Additionally, the long service and academic excellence awards are conferred at this occasion.
Hosted by Mayor of the KwaDukuza Municipality Councillor Ricardo Mthembu, the Municipal community came together to recognise and celebrate the 220 honorees of the 2018 Staff ExcellenceAwards at the KwaDukuza Town Hall on Thursday, 28 June 2018.
Individual and team award recipients were recognised for "above and beyond" contributions and achievements that have directly impacted the Municipality, driven the Municipality towards its strategic goals, helped the community, and/or positively influenced others.
Speaking at the occasion, the Mayor expressed sincerity to effort put by the staff to ensure that Municipal work continues in the midst of many challenges they encounter and the pressure they find themselves in given some of the conditions they work under which is sometimes volatile.
"It is a pleasure to honour for me to address you today, because you are the people who make us passionate to say - we are committed to service delivery. You have raised the bar in many ways then one in terms of growth, value and contributions towards advancing the service delivery of our local government.
"Also, I am proud to handover the long service awards to the employees who dedicated the entire life to thisCouncil some of these stalwarts have served for more than thirty years and these employees are the ones who still have a desire to elevate thisMunicipality in terms of service delivery.
"As Council, ween courage all employees of this municipality, the KwaDukuza Municipality, to put more effort to accelerate service delivery and we want to put it on record that from now onwards we will be applying serious consequence management where work is not done accordingly." Said Mthembu.
