Strutting In The Toyota Avanza

Strutting In The Toyota Avanza

It was one of those crazy holiday weeks. The kids, their friends and even the neighbours' pets were hanging out in my home. The need to get away took over my senses, so I picked up a set of keys that was closest to my purse and walked out the door. That week my husband Tomas and I had a selection of three cars that The Bugle was proudly test-driving and I still had not had the chance to test the new Avanza.

So on this fine winter morning, having had enough of the mess made by my teenagers, I decided to get out while I still could. The first thing that stroked me about the all-new Toyota Avanza was its compact exterior size, it looked too small to fit seven people. However once inside the ingenious use of space and new layout of the Avanza was impressive.

The interior is neat and tidy and has adequate storage space. Everything, even my bulky camera found a comfortable spot. Before I had gotten very far my cell rang, it was the boys, their friends and the dogs, they needed a lift to the beach, body boards, skateboards, rugby ball, six hunky teenagers and two dogs. We managed to fit everything in and were all quite comfortable.

The all new Avanza is easy to park and maneuverer it comes with a five-speed manual transmission. To be fair it's engine was a bit tight and did not offer the umph that I was after but hey, I did not really expect it to be a super car. It has enough spunk to be a groovie mommies taxi. The kind of vehicle when you have no urgent meetings and tight deadlines that you have to speed to.

The gears were nippy on short trips, but the Avanza performed well on longer faster journeys. There is no point in discussing what sound the engine made or what top speed it achieved, if you like what you see, take it for a spin, phone your local Toyota dealer and take one for a test drive and then you can tell me what you think. Send me your comments.
