Trade Brands Tour Natal

Date: 2018-03-16

The first round of the 2018 South African National Rally Championship kicked off in Ballito on 9th March.

The Tour Natal Rally which started back in 1959 ran in various parts of KZN over the years focussing mainly on the fast and sweeping sugar cane fields along the coastline. The event traditionally started in Durban and competitors moved to the South Coast for the Friday stages, after which the crews then made their way back to Durban and restarted on Saturday and contested the beautiful stages on the North Coast.

"NMCC have run a fair number of the rally sprints on the North Coast and with the amazing development that has taken place in Ballito and on the North Coast, we decided to look at the possibility of running the event from Ballito," said Rikus Fourie, National Rally Chairman.
