Sail Africa

Sail Africa

Date: 2018-05-11

At the recent Sail Africa annual prize giving Sail Africa announced that three of her coaches, Nhlanhla Phakathi, Eli Brophy Tinteger and Refeloa Zililo will each enter a team into this year's Lipton Cup to be held in Durban in July. The Sail Africa team pictured here sailing on Ithemba will be sponsored by the Kwa Zulu Natal Sharks Board, and they have been training hard. In the recent Jonsey Sprints held by the PYC over two Sundays Refeloa took the honours, "The boys are relatively inexperienced" says Refeloa, "but they are determined and willing to work hard. It is a pleasure to sail with them as they get down and do what is asked of them with enthusiasm."

Refeloa has been sailing for the past 10 years and has three Lipton Cups under his belt, this is his first as skipper. Recently he gained more experience aboard Ocean Spirit in the Vasco Da Gama Race between Durban and Port Elizabeth. On his return he intends to work his young team hard to polish their performance ahead of the most prestigious sailing event in the country, the Lipton Cup.
