Top Junior Cyclists Aim For Amsterdam
The KZN Cycling Commission has selected sixteen of the province's top junior road cyclists to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the European Junior Cycling Tour in Assen, Amsterdam.
The team of twelve males and four females will be departing for the six-day tour which showcases international talent, on 27 July.
"The European Junior Cycling Tour can almost be equated to the Tour de France for young riders. It is about as serious as kids' cycling gets anywhere in the world. It is the ultimate in junior cycle racing," said Kelvin Du Sart, Chairman of the Westville Cycling Club, and organizer of the tour.
Every year children from across the globe converge on the Dutch town to engage in six days of road racing.
The KZN Cycling Road Commission in conjunction with the parents' of the riders will be hosting two great fundraising events for taking the province's top junior cyclists to Amsterdam to race in the Assen Youth Festival. Help make this cycling dream a reality by supporting these fantastic events.
