The High Life In The Fast Lane

The High Life In The Fast Lane

Wouldn't life be glorious if we could all drive a Ferrari and stay at Beverly Hills

Bob Moawad, the author of The Secret of the Slight Edge, said "The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life begins."

Last Wednesday was just one of those glorious days when the universe aligned and joined up with the stars, which in turn connected with my mood control panel and BINGO! Utopia

The amazing journey started at Viglietti Motors in Gateway where we picked up the latest Ferrari California 30. The Ferrari was to be our ride for the day and then at night we were booked to indulge in spledour of the finest caliber - a night at South Africa's supreme hotel location, The Beverly Hills Hotel in Umhlanga.

Cruising in the red convertible Ferrari must be one of the best feelings on the planet. The California 30 is amongst Italy's most precious masterpieces to date. It is perfection on so many levels that my humble command of the English language does not give me enough eloquent adjectives to give it proper justice.

There really is nothing like it. The sound of the Ferrari's roar in my ears compares with the sweetest heavy metal balladthe sophistication of the drive is unparalleled to any other driving familiarity. The smoothness of the rideoh come onwe are talking about the best the motoring industry has to offer.

And talking about the best, The Beverly Hills is just one of those fine jewels in a treasure chest of exclusive hotels. Our luxury suite was the perfect way to end a perfect day. The room service provided one of the best in-room dining feasts, which included their fabulous silver service.

In silence we watched the sun go down as we dreamed of our futures. The sound of the ocean soothed our deep thrilled adrenalin quivers, the crisp dry Champagne eased our nerves as we drifted to sleep, dreaming of the fast tracked scenes of the highlife with wind in our hair, laughing and racing on perfectly deserted country roads.

Well rested, the morning greeted us with stormy clouds and the morning paper. With just enough time to enjoy the scrumptious breakfast buffet, the memories of the previous day still lingered in our minds as we were escorted through the front door into reality. Wouldn't it be glorious if we could all drive a Ferrari and live in Beverly Hill.

Gustave Flaubert once said that 'The most glorious moments in your life are not the so-called days of success, but rather those days when out of dejection and despair you feel rise in you a challenge to life, and the promise of future accomplishments.'
