Dolphins Rugby

Dolphins Rugby

Author: Dominic Yoko

The final was held at Crawford North Coast, my very own school, on the very pitch that my rugby team practices. Unfortunately this time the players were slightly larger... The atmosphere at Crawford was amazing and the turnout was quite impressive.

After the match had commenced it was a flurry of blue and pink and before I knew it we (dolphins) had points on the board. But unfortunately from then onward the collegians fought back. The intensity of the match was notable and I often thought players were going to be leaving early in a horizontal position but thankfully the stretcher stayed firmly in the medical emergencies tent.

While the players were jumping for lineouts on the field, the kids were jumping for joy on the jumpy castle near the side of the field and the assortment of plastic balls made for an intense target practice session. The age indiscriminant fun continued even as the Collegians' score rose past the 20-point mark.

A disappointing result for the Dolphins squad but overall an enjoyable day at Crawford who proved to be a worthy replacement as the host of the Dolphins rugby squad.
