Al Prodgers and Warren Robertson have won international awards for their live stand-up comedy performances, packed with sharp observations, warped explanations and unique style. Now they are appearing together for the first time in Durban. It's the culmination of their quest to break boundaries, meet new audiences and be somewhere warm for the winter.
As comics, Prodgers and Robertson share a delight in humour that escapes the worn paths of racial stereotypes, exploring the more surprising and exciting aspects of being South African. If we live in crazy times, then the only sane response is to be a bit twisted too!
Al Prodgers has a wry and witty comedic style. He surgically exposes the funny bone in both personal and political material, but never forgets our common humanity. The South Africa Times in London wrote of his performance "you're likely to come away with new respect for the power of laughter and the role it has played in transforming a country."
Double Take carries a "No U18" age restriction to allow for the odd unscripted rant or improvised audience interaction as these guys relentlessly follow the funny on waves of outlandish invention.
You have a double chance to catch the comedy duo in Double Take which runs at two venues for maximum audience convenience, the Seabrooke's Theatre from 24 - 26 August and at the Rhumbelow Theatre from 7 - 9 September.
Bookings are through Computicket.
