Crossover To The Subaru XV

Crossover To The Subaru XV

Date: 2016-10-07
The Subaru XV boldly adds it's own adventurous and cheeky take on the Crossover segment. One of the Hallmarks of the Subaru XV is its athletic, confident and bold styling. At the front of the car, the hexagonal front grille has now been tweaked with a larger chrome split wing.

A standout trait of the XV is the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with black inlays and silver spokes that have now been slightly turned to convey a sense of movement to the overall design. The wheel designs alone, leave you in no doubt as to the to the XV's all-terrain capability.

The XV now boasts interior appointments more in line with its larger and more expensive siblings. The steering wheel has changed to include satellite controls for audio, voice recognition, cruise control and use of the Multi-mode trip computer.

Also awaiting Subaru XV drivers is a revised Entertainment interface with a variety of connectivity options including BlueTooth integration, USB and auxiliary ports. An all-new standard feature that is Siri Eyes-Free, a technology that works in conjunction with the already standard voice recognition system.

The Subaru XV remains an overachieving crossover, retaining the same award-winning 2.0-litre Boxer 4-cylinder DOHC petrol engine. This economical yet responsive unit boasts 110kW and 196 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission, achieving 8.0l/100km or 7.9l/100km respectively. Class-leading 220mm ground clearance, Constant Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive and advanced Subaru Dynamic Chassis Control leave you in no doubt that this Crossover is extremely capable.

At Subaru, safety is of utmost importance. Active safety features include a full complements of seven SRS airbags; Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) with ABS, BAS and EBD. The XV is 5 Star Euro NCAP and ANCAP safety-rated and has also received the IIHS Top Safety Pick. It's a car built to give you confidence and peace of mind on the roadwhatever that road might be.
