Island Style says "aloha" to a revitalised brand
Island Style, a brand that's synonymous with Durban's surf culture and leisure lifestyle, has been relaunched following the restructuring of the business and the opening of a new 486 m2 facility in Springfield Park.
Recapitalised and re-energised, Island Style is poised to once again become a serious player in the surf industry and reclaim its place as Durban's premier surf wear and accessories brand.
Founder, innovator and product developer Warren "Wazo" Wareing says that the restructuring of the business has brought a number of new shareholders on board. Major shareholders include Robin Smith, a financial guru and former financial manager of Bearingman and Shawn Thompson, a business strategist and former head of uShaka Marine World who also has significant experience in the financial sector.
The essence of the brand will remain the same - it is proudly Durban and manufactured in the city of its birth. It is founded on quality and committed not only to developing itself and evolving with the latest trends, but also to creating jobs and contributing to the economic growth of the city.
At present, Island Style's product range includes surf board covers, leashes, swimwear, beach thongs and beach sandals to name a few.
"We're a solid brand with a proud heritage and look forward to surfing alongside a whole new generation," Wareing concludes.
