Durban Botanic Gardens

Durban Botanic Gardens

Date: 2014-01-17
An illustrated talk on Frogs will be given by Dr Jeanne Tarrant of the Endangered Wildlife Trust's Threatened Amphibian Programme, on Tuesday, 28 February, at the Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre at 6 pm.

The talk, entitled, Conservation in your Backyard: Helping protect the most threatened animals on Earth, will provide insight into the fascinating world of Frogs, which as Amphibians, are the most threatened group of all the Vertebrates. The talk will focus on locally threatened species, and give tips on how people can help, such as by having suitable ponds in their gardens.

The talk is being hosted by the Botanical Society of SA, KZN Coastal Branch. 'The Frogs of Durban' posters and bumper stickers will be available.

Entrance, including refreshments, costs R35 for members of BotSoc or members of the Friends of Durban Botanic Gardens, or R45 for non-members. Students with cards pay R25. Payment is made at the door. Proceeds go towards BotSoc Branch projects. All are welcome. For bookings and enquiries please email: botsoc-kzn@mweb.co.za or telephone: 031 2015111 or 071 8693693.
