Award winning stage, film and television actor and director, Jerry Mofokeng was one of several guest speakers at the National Film and VideoFoundation (NFVF)'s gala event which formed part of the 2017 Durban International Film Festival's Filmmart. The NFVF CEO, Zama Mkosi also announced their organisations continued financial support for the, Female Filmmaker Project, a special project for emerging black female filmmakers.
Although busy with several projects, Mofokeng has indicated that he may consider collaborating with aspiring black female film maker and uMhlanga Rocks resident, Rev. Tanelle Welff-Dixon to bring to life her inspirational story with the working title, "Unbroken, The Tanelle Welff Story". Welff-Dixon is a seven time rape survivor who despite the odds and becoming homeless in the USA and through her faith in GOD achieves success and becomes a social entrepreneur, motivational speaker and a radio personality for Christian Radio in the USA.
The documentary also looks at rape, domestic violence; gender based violence in South Africa and aims to empower girls and women through this documentary. Welff-Dixon can be contacted on info@tanellewelffproductions.com.
