The Peace Agency partners with The Gift of the Givers and Grace Aid

Date: 2015-02-06

The Peace Agency, a Durban-based NPO that oversees five projects has partnered with national NGO, The Gift of the Givers and Durban-based NGO Grace Aid to form Project Justice, a project that aims to help restock every looted store in Soweto during the recent xenophobic attacks and help those families that have no option but to stay in South Africa.

"We are asking citizens to donate just R10 to support all those displaced by the xenophobic violence in Soweto and get them back on their feet by restocking the looted shops. R10 would buy a loaf of bread, a bag of sweets or a litre of milk. Imagine the message this would send to our country and government: us citizens will not tolerate oppression in our country; we will not tolerate a future that looks like this. We will make ourselves part of a future that is bright for all," says Justin Foxton, founder of The Peace Agency.

The Peace Agency is an umbrella NPO for five key projects; national press campaign Stop Crime Say Hello, a place of safety for abandoned/orphaned babies called The Baby House, child and youth mentorship programme Bright Stars, a service to impoverished new or expectant mothers called The Cookie Jar and The Adoption Companion which supports and directs those wishing to adopt.

"The Gift of The Givers, with their on-the-ground and logistical expertise will source and distribute the stock and ensure that it goes directly to the neediest recipients." He concludes.
