Ford Racing

The premier Bridgestone Production Car series was filled with action at Cape Town's Killarney circuit this past weekend.

It was the rivals all at it again with hot action and door to door racing, the pit team of Graham Nathan's Volkswagen Genuine Parts Golf GTI pulled out a feat with a gearbox change between races.

Ford Racing Focus ST drivers, Shaun Duminy and Gary Formato were in fine form on the day, however their luck was not on their side. In the first round Shaun Duminy and Graham Nathan thrilled the crowd with an epic battle between the two drivers.

One driver whose weekend went really well for him was Charl Smalberger who took his Tyremart Golf GTi over the finish line for his first Class T win. After rubbing shoulders with Ford Racing Focus ST drivers, Shaun Duminy and Gary Formato, amongst others, Charl must have seen the dust from Nathan's car as he went off the tar near the end of the main straight.

Charl Smalberger and Michael van Rooyen had an altercation where Charl collided with Michael and then met with Lee Thompson in his Castrol MINI.

For some it seemed as if the drivers had almost forgotten the points and a wonderfully exciting race day was produced where everyone, especially the enthusiastic spectators, had a very enjoyable race day.

More action is expected from this exciting class on the 1st of November when they go at it again in Kayalami.
