Trirock set to rock Durban

Trirock set to rock Durban

Date: 2015-10-02
Calling all Durbanites... this coming weekend Trirock Durban takes place in our beautiful city and YOU are invited to participate, either as an athlete or a spectator.

Trirock takes place over two days - Saturday 3rdOctober and Sunday 4thOctober - and incorporates several different races geared for all ages encouraging the entire family to participate. There are also team relay options for each event.

Saturday 3rd October will be the day of Urbanrock (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run) and Sunday 4th October will be the long distance Trirock (1.9km swim, 90km cycle, 21km run)

The swim leg, the first discipline of the three, will start from SunCoast Casino on Saturday and the Bay of Plenty on Sunday. All the action will be centred around the SunDeck at SunCoast Casino.

TriRock Durban organiser Grant Kunneke is on the ball. 'We have organised full road closure, and have complete support from Metro police and eThekwiniTransport Authority. The safety of competitors is a key focus area for us.

'We invite the people of Durban to share the excitement and watch the competitors. The transition zone in front of SunCoast is probably the best spot from which to watch.'
