Guitarist BeeTsho will be performing at Luthuli Museum in Groutville on the 7 July at 11am. The concert is free to the public. "I have been working on new material and cannot wait to present it to new audiences. It is a uniquely African sound and I hope to release an album by December this year" says Tshoane.
BeeTsho, or Bethuel Tshoane, is a deep-rooted, up-and-coming jazz guitarist from Limpopo with an altered, defined sound to his music. His guitar ability has been robustly evident from a tender age. He obtained his expertise at Music for Africa Trinity College of London in Limpopo and went on to pursue his musical studies at University of KwaZulu-Natal from 2012 to 2016.Bethuel's musical influences are drawn from various music genres, such as Bebop, African jazz, African indigenous music, Western classical music and African township style. His guitar skill has been shaped by the sounds of George Benson, Jimmy Dludlu, Pat Metheny and Wes Montgomery. Through various influences, he has established his own sound within the African jazz idiom.
He has worked with musicians such as Prof Salim Washington, Nduduzo Makhathini, Neil Gonsalves, Thulile Mbili, Nomde Zuma, Precious Khomo, Philani Ngidi, Thobeka Langa, Ildo Nanja, Sibusiso Mashiloane, Sbu Zondi, Zoe Molelekwa, Zoe The Seed, King Sfiso, Dalisu Ndlazi, Bucco Xaba, Leon Scharnick, Ndu Gabs, Simphiwe Dana, Sazi Dlamini, DJ King Sfiso, Mbuzo Khoza and with the UKZN Asambe Band and UKZN Philharmonic Orchestra.
The concert at the Luthuli Museum will be part of the Launch of the Noble Mountain Bike Race that celebrates Chief Albert Luthuli in his admiration for Sports and Arts.
