What

What

Such a short love affair it was between Helen and Ramphele, I hoped it would be the spark that would light the flame of union in our much divided political scene, a scene that all to well depicts our society. I guess that is the way it goes. Helen really has egg on her face, having not first made sure Ramphele would move from A Gang to the DA before announcing her as their presidential candidate. I heard it on the streets that the Aging supporters threatened to defect en mass if Ramphele made the move, that could be the reason she reneged, but Ramphele is saying nothing.

What that does is leave the DA with no Presidential candidate, Helen can't do it because she is white and unfortunately the majority of South Africans are just not ready for a white president yet. I don't know this, I only think this, but that is not all I think. I think first we need a corrupt government to steal us completely blind before we wake up and start voting for a leader who will take the honest hard road to a better South Africa. A leader who will not shy away from the gangsters who are ruining this country. It will take a leader with some stiff nerves, a formidable dispensation and an iron fist, a Helen Suzman, may her soul rest in peace, a Maggy Thatcher or an Angela Merkel. Funny how they are all women isn't it?

The problem with a government run by thugs is that an honest presidential candidate has no chance against the shenanigans of a corrupt official, just look at what happened in South America.

Neigh look at what is happening in the EU, corruption costs the EU economy a hundred and twenty billion Euro per year, which is equal to the annual budget of the European Union.

The statistics for the USA are equally as frightening, so a picture starts to emerge of a world filled with corrupt leadership, not just here at home, everywhere. What is the way forward? Who will be able to stand up against this scourge that is killing the tree of life.

I saw a poster recently that read, "The tree of life is dying. Trim the top 1% and feed the roots." This is almost inevitable, our only hope is that the trimming of the tree will leave us with our human dignity intact.
