Crawford's Academic Honours Evenings

Crawford's Academic Honours Evenings

Date: 2016-02-12
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know, and you're the guy who'll decide where to go!" Mr Loots referred to a relevant quote from Dr Seuss in his Principal's Address that revealed many significant characteristics of the academic achievers of 2015.

And that place they proved was to the top of the achievers' lists as winners, based on their accumulated year-marks.

The respective grade winners of 2015 with their commendable aggregates were Ethan Luyt in Grade 8 with 90,36%, Kelly Olivier in Grade 9 with 90,58%, Saneshan Narainsamy in Grade 10 with 96.70%, Hayley Hesom in Grade 11 with 91.60%, and Kenyon Padayachee our Grade 12 Dux with 93,23% which included 9 distinctions. Kenyon has enrolled at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg to study for a degree in Actuarial Science.

Mr Loots' presentation went on to explain that the acquisition of knowledge, through the process of education, has the ability to free our minds and allows us to attain a condition of freedom, in that we are no longer restricted by circumstance. This ability to free our minds makes us experience a state of happiness, a state that was very apparent on the faces of these academic winners.

We congratulate these winners and wish all our students well on their future journeys towards success and happiness.
