Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

The terror attacks in France shook me to the core. It's crazy times. I don't want to give in to fear.

The serious talk of war and revenge in Europe is worrying, chances are, this will have immense impact on our way of life. Africa is already being hit with terrible human rights atrocities.

The innocent targets picked to support fundamental obsession of victory in the name of God churns my blood. I want to vent out and scream the curses at the small-brained imbeciles who believe that killing innocent individuals in the name of God will bring them eternal salvation.

The world does not need to learn to cope with Islamic terrorists. It needs to learn to love and tolerate each and every species. It needs to look at every living soul and see them as someone's mother, daughter, son, father as part of one big whole. My heart goes out to people who live in fear, in constant terror and oppression. I cannot imagine how sad and messed up life must be when the only constant is the daily trepidation and numbing anxiety.

There is no denying that what the world needs today is a profound mind-set adjustment. I happen to believe in God but I know that millions of people do not. Neither I nor anyone else has the right to inflict damage or death on someone just because they do not share the same belief.

Until this fact is respected, the extremist Islamic view of the world is a human centric, dictatorial religion that is no better than any other heinous dictator's vision of the world. Allahu Akbar more or less translates to "God is Great". If Islam believes this to be true, how can these fundamentalists truly believe that an entity that is great would condone the murder of innocent people?

It appears that these extremists do not believe in God and are simply using Islam as an excuse to commit murder. Other religions have done it in the past so, horrifying as it is, unfortunately it is no surprise.

Just like the IRA, Baader-Meinhof, the Red Brigade, ETA, and all the rest, these people are terrorists. In my humble opinion the fact that they are Muslim is purely coincidental, a political convenience. The previously mentioned entities are Christian and atheist so religious beliefs are irrelevant. The truth is, they just like killing people.

This brings me to an appropriate anecdote I recently heard that made me think of the present political situation, "A plane with President Obama, Pope Francis, the pilot and a college student on board starts to have engine trouble. The pilot comes out and says, "We have a problem and the plane is going to crash, even worse, I only have three parachutes on board". The pilots straps one on and jumps out of the plane.

Obama, the Pope and the college kid are left staring at each other. Obama says, "I'm the President and smartest man in the world, I have to survive." Grabs one parachute and jumps out of the plane. The Pope looks at the college student and says, "You take the last one my son, I am with God and have lived a long life."

The college student looks at the Pope and replies, "Well why don't we take the last two parachutes and go together since the smartest man in the world just jumped out the plane with my backpack!"

Nothing is as it seems. I hope your new year has started with a fantastic bang! Lets make the most of 2015!
