Pooches don Sunflower Bandanas for a good cause

Pooches don Sunflower Bandanas for a good cause

Date: 2015-10-23
More than one hundred outdoor and pet enthusiasts filled the Scout Bowl of the Westville Civic Centre on Saturday 10th October for the 2nd Annual Bandana Doggy Fun Walk in celebration of National Bandana Day that takes place annually on the 12th of October. People and pooches of all colours, breeds and sizes took to the scenic nature trail donning their bright and beautiful Sunflower Bandanas. The atmosphere was as warm and sunny as the weather that the event was blessed with.

On arrival each entrant received a stylish 2015 Sunflower Bandana as well as a fabulous goodie bag filled with treats and trendy freebies sponsored by industry leaders Petwise, Hill's Pet Nutrition, Animal Talk Magazine, MediPet and the Westville Vet Hospital.

All funds raised from the event will go toward the tissue typing of more potential bone marrow stem cell donors for inclusion on The South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) which will directly give hope to patients diagnosed with life-threatening blood disorders like leukaemia.

For more information on becoming a bone marrow stem cell donor and other ways to assist please contact The Sunflower Fund on 0800 12 10 82 or visit https://www.sunflowerfund.org.za
