Fight for little Imke's life

Fight for little Imke's life

Date: 2016-08-05
"Imke's story has really touched our hearts and we want to contribute towards helping her. It is the least we can do in the fight against Cancer and the fight for her little life," commented Sean Granger, General Manager of Granny Mouse Country House & Spa in the KZN Midlands who donated R40000 on Friday, July 29th, 2016, in the hope that Imke could receive the treatment she needs abroad.

Imke is a 3-year-old little girl from Tzaneen that was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma High Risk Stage 4 on the February 2nd, 2016, after doctors found a large mass above the left kidney arising from the left suprarenal fossa. It also spread to her bone marrow, and after many chemotherapy sessions and further CT scans, a new report stated that there is currently a large partially calcified mass in the left suprarenal region that now measures 5.5 x 2.7 by 2.9cm, a significant decrease in size, which was very good news to her family.

The family were then told the devastating news, that despite being at the best possible Oncology Pedriatic with three of the best Pedriatic Oncologists in South Africa attending to Imke, there has been no proven evidence of a successful Neuroblastoma High Risk stage 4 Bone Marrow Transplant or survivors in the country.

Apart from their donation, Granny Mouse Country House & Spa are appealing to all the 'angels' out there to join in the fight and be part of a competition they are running to aid the cause.

For every proof of payment that is sent to Granny Mouse, your name will go into a draw to stand a chance to win a 2 night stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Hotel. Email your proof of payment, name and contact number with the subject line "Funding Imke" to mouton@grannymouse.co.za by September 30th, 2016 to qualify.
