Vodacom KZN Golf Day teed off to a great start

Vodacom KZN Golf Day teed off to a great start

Date: 2014-03-07
The much anticipated inaugural Vodacom KZN Golf Day teed off to a great start, where valued Vodacom customers were treated to a day of golf, networking, sun, and acclaimed KwaZulu-Natal hospitality.

The event was hosted at the prestigious Selborne Golf Estate - just south of Scottburgh - where good conversation, and golf, did the rounds up and down the fairway.

As part of the day's attractions, Ultra Simple Golf TV show host Don Gammon was the guest emcee. Gammon sought to improve competitors' stroke play by capturing their swings on video and providing them with a personalised DVD full of helpful tips and analysis.

Vodacom was not alone in ensuring golfers were taken care of during the golf day, with co-sponsor Samsung giving away Samsung Galaxy Chat smart phones and BlackBerry sponsoring the watering hole and setting up a mobile barmobile bar both came on board to support what is billed to be an annual event.

Selborne Golf Estate and Hotel also threw their weight behind the day, offering a complementary weekend stay for two lucky couples. The couples will be able to take in not only the legendary golf course, but the great amenities the hotel and spa have to offer.

"Vodacom is excited to be launching its KZN Golf Day, our goal was to create a networking opportunity for corporate's in KZN in a much more relaxed setting and we hope the event will become a permanent fixture on our social calendar," said Alberts Breed, KwaZulu-Natal Managing Executive for Vodacom.

"We value our customers, and an event of this nature is a small way to say thank you to those valued customers."

The inaugural Vodacom KZN Golf Day teed off on Friday, February 28.

The format of the competition was a Better-ball Combined Stableford, with both partners' scores counting. Partners were drawn ahead of the competition by the event organisers, with the maximum handicap for men, 18, while the maximum handicap for women was 24.
