International recognition for PC Training & Business College

International recognition for PC Training & Business College

Date: 2015-02-20

PC Training & Business College has been selected to receive the Century International Quality ERA Award in the Gold Category at an award ceremony to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in March 2015. The ceremony will be attended by companies from 74 countries, together with leaders from a variety of business fields, professionals from the worlds of economics, the arts and corporate image, quality experts, as well as academic personalities and representatives from the diplomatic corps.

"We are delighted to have been recognised for this prestigious award," says Jay Ramnundlall, Chief Executive Officer of PC Training & Business College (PCT&BC), "and it inspires us to continue looking for ground breaking means of improving and enhancing Higher Education in Southern Africa."

The decision to bestow this award on PCT&BC is the result of an analysis performed by a team of Quality Hunters, from BID Group One, an organisation who each year presents an International Quality Award to leaders from all ranges of industries and sectors in recognition of exceptional achievements in total quality management, innovation and commitment to continuous improvement.

PCT&BC was specifically recognised for their impressive programmes in the field of Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which increases the rate of employability of learners, as well as PCT&BC's commitment to promoting technology by providing its students free access to high-tech devices and data networks which has the additional spin off of creating a "green" culture by encouraging learners and educators to move away from the excessive use of paper.

"We pioneered the introduction of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) in the Higher Education (HE) and Further Education and Training (FET) arena in Southern Africa in 2012, when we provided our learners with Tablet PC's," states Ramnundlall, "allowing us to make education more accessible both geographically with Open Distance Learning (ODL) and without time constraints."

"We live in times of exponential change," says Ramnundlall, "so it is cortical that we equip the next generation of learners in a cutting edge environment in order be competitive on a global scale." Ramnundlall goes on to quote the words of Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
