SCHOOL SHOE DONATION!
SCHOOL SHOE DONATION!
Amaoti Primary School in Inanda was recently visited by members of Ntenga Foundation and uShaka Marine World, where they donated 270 pairs of school shoes.
Upon arrival, the school of underprivileged learners were treated to entertainment by uShaka Marine Worlds Ocean Warrior Mascots, Delia the Dolphin, Slippy the Seal, Rusty the Penguin and Raggy the Shark, which left every face with a smile, before Dr. Stella Khumalo (CEO of uShaka Marine World) addressed the learners. The brand new school shoes were then given to the principal who had already allocated them to children who were in dire need.
The entire school, teachers and principal were grateful for being considered for the donation.
"We as a school are so grateful for such a generous gift. A lot of the children have now benefited from receiving these shoes and we are very appreciative.," said deputy principal of Amaoti Primary School, Mr. Dumisani Mvupu.
The school shoes were donated as a result of the funds raised by the Ntenga Foundation Charity Run/Walk event that was held at uShaka Marine World earlier this year.
Now in its fourth year running, the Ntenga Foundation Charity Run/Walk is already one of the top unique charity mass participation events in KwaZulu Natal, bringing together a superb fusion of music and athletics to Durban. Nearly 5000 social runners, families and friends have participated in the races that took place at uShaka Marine World this year.
Funds raised through these walk/run events goes towards making school shoes for underprivileged children like those of Amaoti Primary School.
