iSupport Creative Business presents Italian guitarist Fabrizio Savino South African Trio performing at Alliance Francaise on Friday 29 November 2019. Doors for the event open at 6pm and tickets can be booked through e-mail. On Saturday 30 November, Savino is performing at The Chairman at 11pm, entrance is R150.
Savino was born in Bari, in sunny Puglia, a region in the South of Italy. He grew up up around the globe and specialized into jazz guitar whilst studying in New York City and attending seminars by many of the masters of jazz. April 2019 was the first time the guitarist visited South Africa through a performance with the UNISA big band in Pretoria.
"My first visit to South Africa was an unforgettable experience, so I'm excited to come back in November 2019 for a small tour to play my new guitar trio project "Rebirth". I will play music from "Rebirth" with two fine musicians from South Africa: Braydon Hore and Freeman Gumede on bass guitar and Riley Giandhari on drums."
Savino is planning to release his 4th album "Rebirth" in 2020. It is a modern jazz guitar project where he brings rock sounds and jazz music through deep contemporary jazz language. "Rebirth" is a mix of ten tracks, two standards and eight original compositions.
His first album "Metropolitan Prints" was released in that received raving reviews by various publications under which Italian jazz magazine called "Jazzit". In 2016 "Best 100 European jazz albums" according to the influent Jazzit Magazine and "Album of the week" by the famous Radio show Fahrenheit on the National Public Broadcasting Company of Italy RAI Radio Tre.
During his career, Savino has shared the stage with some of the greatest artists of the jazz scene, such as Vladimir Kostadinovic, Flavio Boltro, Tony Monaco, Sebastian Merk, Luca Alemanno, Gaetano Partipilo, Antonello Salis, Luca Aquino, Joel Holmes, Cédric Hanriot and Simon Moullier.
