Sadha Naidoo - the mover and shaker of KZN

Sadha Naidoo - the mover and shaker of KZN

Author: Kasia Yoko
Date: 2013-11-29
For Sadha Naidoo 2013 has been an exceptional year. He married his childhood sweetheart, Theagie, who just two weeks ago gave birth to their first born daughter Keyuri and if that was not enough of an achievement, Sadha has just opened the 150-seater Restaurant, Latitude, at Dube Trade Port, which consist of a Conferencing and function facility with a capacity to host 250 people.

Latitude Cocktail Bar and an Executive Boardroom, situated just walking distance from the King Shaka International Airport, has also been launched by Sadha at the same venue and promises to offer the corporate and private sector an exclusive venue to train, meet and network.

And if that is still not enough of an achievement for one year, just last week, Sadha received the go ahead from the eThekwini Municipality to take over the lease of a vacant site on Dairy Beach in Durban, which has stood open since 2010. The site will be the future home of Durban Beach Club, Sadha's vision of creating the Beach club dining and entertainment venue for both locals and tourists alike.

"The future growth point in the province is the Dube Trade Point." Sadha told The Bugle, "It has been identified by the provincial government as SEZ (Special Economic Zone). Consequently we have moved our Calipso Group Head Office here and this is where we chose to launch our retail brand - Latitude."

Restaurant business is new to Sadha. He has been involved with local tourism for almost twenty years, and as a Chairman of Tourism KZN Sadha believes that the move to Dube is a natural progression of his empire's expansion. "Moving my company here has been emotional for me." Sadha continues. "The 032 dialling code is a sweet reminder that I too come from this place. I want to honour my ancestors with the venues that I open here. As you will see the interiors which have been designed by me, have a direct link to these landscapes, and the food and drinks we will serve in our restaurants and bars will be representing our forefathers."

For Sadha Naidoo 2013 has been a phenomenal chapter of personal and intellectual growth but he sees this as the mere beginning of his private ambitions. He believes that the Calipso Culture of Service Excellence, which he created nearly twenty years ago, is the key to his unbelievable success.
