Umhlanga's Broom wins with Granny Mouse

Umhlanga's Broom wins with Granny Mouse

Date: 2016-11-04
Granny Mouse Country House & Spa Culinary Artist, Kirstie du Toit, recently participated at the Good Food and Wine Show at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

On Friday, October 28th, du Toit kicked off the cooking demonstrations at the Eat Well Live Well Theatre which saw a full house of guests fully attentive to the process of creating Herbed Polenta with Basil Goats Cheese Crumb & Tomato Salad, a delicious healthy meal, perfect for summer; as well as a trout inspired polenta dish which was cooked to perfection.

Kirstie was assisted by Vanessa Marx, host of the theatre as well as chefs from the International Hotel School.

At the end of the show, the much anticipated prize of a 2 night midweek stay for 2 persons inclusive of breakfast as well as dinner and a bottle of house wine on departure was awarded to Lorraine Broom from Umhlanga. She was the first to answer a question which helped her claim the amazing prize.

"I am so excited to have won this getaway. Thank you," she said.

The guests were then invited to taste the dishes, provide feedback and ask any further questions.
