Fun at the show, the Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show celebrates a decade with a number of magnificent crafts being exhibited over the years. This year, the show promises to be magnificent.

Celebrating its tenth year, Durban's top winter aquatic attraction, the Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show promises to be magnificent this year with three days of nautical fun, from 28 - 30 June at the Durban Marina.

The major attraction last year, the Cardboard Boat Race will feature again this year. On Saturday, teams of boat-building students will put their education to work and construct floating craft to compete along the short course. On Sunday, the event will be opened up to the public with two races, the first race open to competitors whose craft are built off-site, with the second race open to members of the public who have created their boats at the show. Rules and regulations, as well as entry forms, are available on the boat show website, https://www.durbanboatshow.co.za

Flying high, on Saturday and Sunday patrons will have the chance of enjoying a kite workshop where you can make your own kite from scratch under the watchful guidance of international kite flyer, Greg Mountjoy from Windsong Kites. After the workshop, visitors will be able to fly the kites at the best kite-flying venue in Durban, the newly-grassed area opposite Cafe Fish on the Yacht Mole.

Continuing with the kite theme, John Erasmus and Steven Leonard from AeroShark will be giving displays showing off some quad-line trick kite-flying individually and in team mode. AeroShark is an aerial flight performance group based in Durban and are constantly looking for an opportunity to show people what is possible with kites, while entertaining the audience and enhancing their skills.

The 2013 show has a great range of exhibitors on the boating and leisure side, and a range of exciting attractions for the whole family.

Ticket prices are R50 for adults and R30 for children over 12 and senior citizens. Children under 12 enter for free, when accompanied by a parent.
