Gcina Mhlope Presents at the RHF 'Future Women of Africa' Conference

Nokugcina Elsie Mhlophe, aka Dr Gcina Mhlope, is a well-known South African freedom fighter, activist, actor, storyteller, poet, playwright, director and author. Storytelling is a deeply traditional activity in Africa and Mhlophe is one of the few woman storytellers. She does her most important work through charismatic performances, working to preserve storytelling as a means of keeping history alive and encouraging South African children to read. She

Mhlope, a friend of the Robin Hood Foundation, will be the non-profit organisation's opening and closing guest speaker for their 'Future Women of Africa' conference taking place on the 28th and 29th July at CityHill Church in Hillcrest. The conference is open to 1000 previously disadvantaged women between the ages of 15 and 36 and will cover topics such as how to write a CV, how to set goals for your life, hygiene, etiquette, self-defence and communication skills.
