Tonykart for SA Championship

Date: 2014-06-27
Karting enthusiasts will be in for a treat when National Karting returns to the Idube Race Track near Richmond next weekend for Round 3 of the 2014 combined SARMC and ROK SA Championship.

Leading the onslaught for the TonyKart team is reigning Max World Champion Christiano Morgado in the DD2 Masters category Morgado is leading this class in the 2014 Championship, and will have support from Richard van Heerde. Benjamin Habig racing the DD2, has had a good start to the 2014 season, and will be one of the team's front contenders.

He will have strong competition from Bradley Liebenberg, Ryan Frost and Arnold Neveling. Both Morgado and Habig will be very comfortable on their home track, especially after a successful Regional this past weekend.

In Senior Max, Eugene Denyssen, Johnathan Aberdeen and Robert Whiting will fly the flag.

Keagan Masters spearheads the TonyKart fray in the Super Rok class, and will be joined by Chad van Beurden and brothers Luke and Jason Hill, who will compete against the reigning champion, Simon Moss and championship leader, Chassen Bright.

In the Junior Rok class, Jason Smith, who won in Cape Town in May, will be hunting for a repeat performance.

The Mini Rok class sees young Dominic Lincoln also on his home track, looking for a top result.

Cadet racing is the entry level to karting in South Africa, and the fearless attack of the shortened circuit will demonstrate the skill of these youngsters at a national level.

The SA Championship event starts with timed practices and qualifying on Friday, 27 June and the heats being run on Saturday 28 June at the Idube Karting track near Richmond. Racing starts daily at 09h00.
