Cash in this holiday - Enter the CAN Craze competition

Date: 2012-07-11
Hey kids! The long awaited June holidays have arrived and I'm sure you can't wait to take a break from your school work and just chill! But do you know that if you dedicated some of your chill time to getting creative with used cans you could win a share of R50,000 cash?

Joshua Behrens from The Hills College in the Eastern Cape did just that last year when he created a portrait of Nelson Mandela out of crushed cans entitled, "Madiba, True Greatness" and won R10,000 for himself in Collect-a-Can's CAN Craze competition! Josh's work was also displayed at the 2011 Green Expo in Cape Town along with Hoërskool Florida's giant rhino structure.

Collect-a-Can's 2012 CAN Craze competition opened nationally on 1 June and the deadline for submitting entries is 30 September. To enter, you need to create a structure or artwork out of 300 or more used cans, in the most creative way possible. Then take a picture of your completed entry and send it to Collect-a-Can along with an entry form which you can download off our website (https://www.collectacan.co.za) or collect from a Collect-a-Can branch. You can enter as a school, as a group or work individually. Winning entrants are awarded cash prizes.
