Spoiled for Choice yet they all wanted the Royce

Spoiled for Choice yet they all wanted the Royce

Last week saw the celebration of Daytona Group's tenth birthday. The showroom in Umhlanga was filled with eager sports cars enthusiasts and there was no better way to celebrate than with Single Malt, Sushi and spectacular entertainment. And while the cocktails flowed the guest were given a sneak preview of the finest vehicles in the world.

Last Thursday Daytona Group was honouring ten years of selling luxury supercars and revealing some of the latest models of the finest cars Britain has to offer. This anniversary coincides with the centenary birthday of Aston Martin and the 50th birthday of McLaren.

Included in the line-up are three of Aston Martin's latest models, the Vanquish Volante, V12 Vantage S and Rapide S. The Vanquish Volante brings the thrill of open top motoring to the super GT class. Benefitting from all the technical, engineering and design advances present in the Vanquish coupe, the new Volante enhances the driving experience still further through the option of exciting convertible driving.

While ogling, admiring and drooling one could not ignore the queue beside the Rolls Royce Wraith. At R8.2mil this beauty had the SOLD sign on even before the doors opened.

There was only one car for me, the most extreme of the Aston Martin brat rat pack, the V12 Vantage S, the most ferocious Aston Martin ever produced. It boasts an even lighter chassis, an even more powerful engine and an even more responsive transmission than the V12 Vantage.

Extreme performance. Extreme styling and bold new carbon fibre grille, marries design and engineering to improve airflow whilst defining a more aggressive front profile. New roof and rear graphics packs, lightweight forged alloy wheels, plus all new interior seats, doors and controls. Never opulent but always dramatic the V12 Vantage S is tailored for a visceral driving experience.

This is an advanced engineering story told by monumental numbers, 15kg lighter than the V12 Vantage, 421Kw of power and 620Nm of peak torque. With enhanced low and mid-range power the new-generation AM28 engine pushes the V12 Vantage S to a top speed of 330km/h, creating the fastest series production model ever produced by Aston Martin.

The controlled power of V12 Vantage S comes with revolutionary levels of response to driver input. Featuring three-stage adaptive damping, all new carbon ceramic brakes, a unique track-mode with delayed anti-lock braking technology. This isn't technology to aid the driver, its technology that puts the driver in control.

If you have not been introduced to these magnificent vehicles it's time to visit their Showroom.
