Whats The Issue?

Whats The Issue?

How poofie it is to be an ordinary citizen in SA. If you shoot your girlfriend then you will probably go straight to jail for life, but if you are a celebrity they you will get no more years than the fingers on your one hand, and then probably get off for good behaviour within eight months.

If your daddy is rich and forces you to marry someone you don't like then you can off the poor spousal candidate and get away with a few years in a hospital pretending to be a nutter.

But if you are average Joeseph in SA and somebody comes into your house and shoots you for your cell phone then the cops might just pitch before the blood dries on your corpse. I am not having a dig at the Police, they are not the focus of this rant, I am having a dig at how we suddenly want to know who the murdering bastards that shot our Soccer captain are, because he is our soccer captain and we recently won a match. Where is the same political will to hunt down the killers of the farmer who was gunned down in his yard for no apparent reason? How come is there so much disgust and aversion for this senseless murder and not for those average people out there whose families feel just as much pain and suffering as the celebrity's?

The abhorrent disgust at this kind of act is what we need, a total blanket rejection of any murder whatsoever needs to be cultivated in our society, so much so that anybody who kills another human gets exposed, even by his own mother, for such a treacherous act. So deep our loathing of this kind of act should become. We really have to stand together as a nation to eradicate this "Wild West" mentality from our society, because it is we who have condoned it within our society, and that has allowed it to become so prevalent amongst us.

Okay so the state is going to appeal Oscar's judgement, hopefully after the Helen Suzman Foundation has found out exactly how appointments to the bench are made in SA. Hlaudi's ruling suspending the SABC's Chief Operating Officer will be appealed, suspending the suspending and it will apparently continue to be appealed until it reaches the constitutional court, effectively keeping Hlaudi in his position for what might be even longer than his contract. The legal system can work for you and it can work against you. Look at NUMSA, they are sticking to their guns, I like that they are against the eToll daylight robbery scheme and are sceptical about the ANC's National Development Plan.

Julius Malema may or may not see the witness box soon for his flared temper attacks on ordinary Joseph citizens of South Africa, his finger pointing, gun pointing pushing and shoving arrogance looks like it might just catch up with him but then he is a celebrity so we can't be sure, they have their own set of rules in this country.
