Entries For Umhlanga Lizzard Nature Valley Surf Fest Nearly Full

Date: 2013-12-06
There has been an over whelming response of entries for the 2013 Umhlanga Lizzard Nature Valley Surf Fest (7/8 December). KZN Central Surfing Chairman Paul Izzard is concerned that there are so many surfers taking part that late entries will not be accommodated due to time constraints over the weekend. The u16 boys division in particular is very full at this stage as well as the open men division. The event has surfers from all over the country entered - due to the excellent prizes on offer. With close on R100 000 on offer in prize money and products this year is guaranteed to attract large crowds of spectators.

Masters Men winners will be rewarded with R5000 cash from Varsity College together with a weekend away in Mozambique from the Mets valued at a further R5000. Other stunning prizes include Lizzard Open men R10 000 plus prizes. Ladies Open R5000 from Nature Valley. Zigzag Expression Session Award R1000. Hurricane Blowing Up award R1000 plus many prizes. Clayton Surfboards are offering a brand new board to the most prominent up and coming surfer valued at R5000. The girl surfer that gets the highest wave score will win R2500 from the Bells. The U20 Boys division will get a R20 000 bursary from Varsity College plus R2500 cash prize from the Sykes.

There will also be a paddle battle where surfers have to run into the water near Granny's Pool and paddle around a bouy out at sea and back inland, then run through the crowded beach back onto the Millenium Stage at Umhlanga's Main Beach. This is always a crowd pleaser and will win the boy/girl each R1000 from Hogg/De Vries. There will also be FREE Granola Bars and Haagen Dazs IceCream for the competitors and spectators which will help keep everyone energised and refreshed. Everyone is welcome down to the Umhlanga Main Beach on the weekend of 7/8 December to join in and enjoy the event.
