Plug Into The Sun For Hot Water

Plug Into The Sun For Hot Water

Date: 2013-02-28
Living in sunny South Africa, to most families, is simply fun in the sun. Most of us spend many hours in the sun monthly, and use block-out creams to resist those harmful rays. Isn't it about time you make use of those rays- to heat your water?

Solar Heating Systems use the free energy of the sun and cost very little to maintain. The environmental aspects are also important, as solar heating systems are clean and non-polluting.

With the ever-increasing household costs, of which the majority is fast becoming household electricity, we all need to become solar wise.

Hot Water Geyser SOLAR Heating uses a flat plate solar collector, which is mounted on the roof and connected to your existing Kwikot or equivalent hot water geyser. The water is circulated through the flat plate solar collector using a12-volt pump and photovoltaic (PV) panel to power the pump. As soon as there is sun on the PV panel the pump begins to circulate the geyser water through the flat plate solar collector. No timers are required. The existing heater element is used as a back-up should there be no or little sun for a few days continually.

HI-TEMP can convert (retrofit) your existing hot water geyser to solar. The monthly savings on a 150Lgeyserwould be between R350-R500 depending on your hot water needs. They can also help you use solar power to heat your swimming pool and swim all year round.
