New Trends in Interior design in 2013

New Trends in Interior design in 2013

Date: 2013-11-01
Just like in fashion, year 2013 brought many new trends in home decor. This year's interior designs are all about simplicity and minimalism, with colours ranging from very neutral and calming to disco -inspired, vibrant hues.

Neutral tones such as cream and grey work perfectly well with furniture in neoclassical design, and they would definitely turn your home into warm and comfy place.

If you choose to go with bright colours such as red, orange, green or purple, you can complement them with other bold-coloured furniture or home accessories that will complete the overall look.

Interior design trends for 2013:
If you're looking to change things up a little for autumn / winter 2013; here are our top interior design trends to get you thinking (well in advance).

Wood burning fireplaces
These have been around for a good few years now, but are never far from the glossy pages of interior fashion magazines. Fireplaces make your home look and feel warm, as well as really standing out as a statement piece. They're also great for the environment too. They'll make you feel stylish and environmentally aware as well.

Preppy Styles
It's not just men's clothes, which have gone all tailored and preppy over the last few years; we're also seeing a shift into interior design too. It's all tailored upholstery, metal accents and preppy patterns.

Faces and cameos
This is a trend we've seen creeping in for a good few months now, but is set to be bigger than ever for 2013. You'll see everything from chairs to accessories, even tables taking on a new persona. Chic or creepy?

Upcycled furniture
We all know how much of a hit shabby chic styling has been in the last year or so; well upcycled furniture plays on that style, but with a new modern twist. Rather than keeping furniture looking old and vintage, upcycled gives it a new lease of life. Think classic wooden sideboards painted with a whole host of bright colours, vivid pink dining room chairs; that kind of thing.

Monochrome
For those who like things a little more black and white, classic monochrome styling is here to stay; at least for the next season anyway. They've always gone together, but will they ever go out of fashion?

Raw materials
Stone and wood are really being showcased in their natural stripped down state, really showcasing the beauty of the material in its natural form. Sticks, branches, and even wood stumps are set to be brought into the home, while crystals, gems and geodes and finding their way indoors too.

Gold
To really make a statement in your home opt for gold finishes on your furniture. It's a little opulent, but bang on trend for the new season.

Now this should keep you busy if you are planning to redecorate.
