Come on its time to decorate

Come on its time to decorate

Date: 2013-11-01
Summer may be here, but for the interior design enthusiasts amongst you, thoughts are probably turning to the small touches you can make to your home to get it in line with the latest trends for autumn. Right now, you've got your summer accessories out, some bright summer colours, and you're enjoying it. But as we know with fashion, once we're in to one season, thoughts very quickly turn to the next.

It's Easy Being Green
Move over Tangerine Orange. Emerald Green the colour of 2013. Get ready to see this lush hue everywhere from bud vases to window treatments. If a green accent wall intimidates you, opt for more subtle touches that incorporate the shade into a larger design, such as an area rug.

A Case of the Blues
Monaco Blue, was the "it" colour for spring, is a vibrant hue. It's a versatile shade that looks good standing alone or mixed with graphic patterns, which are also en vogue for 2013.

Great American Design
1920's are making a comeback. Expect a resurgence of Roaring 20's art deco in homes, influencing everything from walls to furniture.

Raw Style
Exposed elements are the current fashion in architecture and furniture showrooms. Surfaces made of stone and wood ones that show off natural grains help bring the rustic look of the outdoors into the modern home.

Gold Standard
Metals such as gold and brass are stealing the spotlight from silver. Designers love how these metallic ooze warmth and pair well with almost any colour.

Classic Duo
Black and white design was recently trending at the High Point furniture market (the largest in the world). This combination is like a well-fitted tuxedo. It just works.

Knock on Wood
Unadorned wood pieces that boast a natural beauty and elegance are sneaking into chic houses. Add neutral accents to give the space a cohesive, tranquil look.

Texture Mashup
For an easy way to make over a room, assemble a collection of diverse textures: Grasscloth on walls, stone tables, burlap lampshades, and a patterned rug work together to create a rich interior.

Don't be shybe bold with your flair!
