Happy Times at San Lameer

Happy Times at San Lameer

You do not need an excuse to pack a bag and hit the road. Frequent weekend getaways are one way to keep your sanity and explore our beautiful country.

Just two comfortable hours from Ballito you will find a piece of heaven. Surrounded by lush green gardens, secured by access control and electric fencing, San Lameer is a real national treasure for all - because you must know, contrary to most reports, San Lameer is not just about the golf, its about quality family getaways.

We packed our bags and our full intention was to enjoy the fabulous Camelot Spa, play golf, and chilland that is what we did. Straight after booking into our golf studio we headed for our spa treatmentstwo hours of bliss with Candice prepared me for a respectable game on Saturday. In fact the Spa was so good I booked a second session for the following day.

The greens and fairways at San Lameer are as perfect as can be. The rain and the clear lack of drought has kept this expansive course lush, green and pristine. We also loved the fact that while in our neck of the woods the golf courses were chocker block and seriously packed to the rafters, we were able to play a two ball at our own pace.

It was really comforting that wherever we went we bumped into people we knew from the north coast, so at no point did we feel lonely or isolated. The village environment was the perfect setting and our friends had two small children who could roam around freely, confident in the knowledge that they were safe and secure at all times.

The resort has two large swimming pool for cooling off after the hot beach and the restaurant and bar make the perfect place to sip a chilled cocktail or enjoy a romantic dinner.

The beach is accessible through a private gate and its long sandy stretch of sunny bliss welcomes surfers, sun tanners and leisure strollers alike. There are rocky pools for the little ones to cool off in and the bathing is very safe thanks to the lifeguards on duty.

What can I say? San Lameer is my new place of refuge. The friendly family vibe on the estate, the secure and adequate accommodation with all amenities in close proximity, the world-class golf course and the really good spa makes this the place to vacation. Whether it's for just a quick romantic weekend away or for a longer family holiday stay.
