uShaka Marine World will be closing its ticketing gate on 23 February

uShaka Marine World will be closing its ticketing gate on 23 February

Date: 2013-02-13
For the first time in its history, Durban's uShaka Marine World will be closing its ticketing gate that lead to both Sea World and Wet 'n Wild to the public for a day in order to accommodate a party for thousands of under privileged children in and around Durban.

The party will be hosted by well-known Durban businessman, Vivian Reddy, who will be celebrating the 35 year anniversary and success of his company, Edison Power, at one of the city's top tourist venues. Approximately 10 000 children from some of the city's poorest communities are expected to enjoy a fun day out.

uShaka Marine World chief executive Shawn Thompson said uShaka was pleased to be able to host this event and appealed to the public to be understanding on the matter and thereby enable children who would never usually have an opportunity like this to spend an unforgettable day in the park. He said that uShaka had hosted many of its own initiatives over the years to accommodate disadvantaged children, but nothing on this scale.

The general public will be able to access Village walk as well as Dangerous Creatures and uShaka Kids World.
