I found the new Ford Puma to be a marvel of automotive engineering that's got me buzzing like a hyperactive bee in a field of wildflowers. I drove the ST Vignale derivative, the Puma is available in a Titanium spec level as well. Both derivatives are powered by Ford's tried and tested 1.0 litre, three-cylinder EcoBoost motor.
The Puma impressed me with its enthusiastic acceleration and precise handling, the seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission added to the spirited performance. The 92 kilowatts and 170 Newton meters of torque is deftly controlled by five selectable drive modes for different driving conditions. From Normal to Eco, Slippery, Trail and Sport, the Ford Puma really turns on the Compact Crossover SUV versatility.
Equipped with an array of cutting-edge features, the Puma ensures both driver and passenger comfort and safety. Advanced driver-assist technologies like lane-keeping assist and cruise control provided peace of mind during long journeys, while the SYNC infotainment system kept everyone connected and entertained.
The list of features and tech is long and goes a long way to justifying the price point of the Puma, like the hands-free power liftgate. Ford have crammed this model with so many luxury specifications I could get very used to driving this car.
Overall, the Ford Puma sets a new standard in the compact crossover segment, offering a compelling combination of style, performance, and practicality. Whether commuting to work or embarking on a weekend adventure, it proves to be a capable companion for any journey.
