Total Dominance

Total Dominance

Author: Tomas Yoko

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel did it once again, this time in the United States, breaking another record with his eighth consecutive chequered flag.

It has been a display of total dominance from both Vettel and red Bull as team and driver and teammate seem to own the track.

Vettel lead from pole to podium with just a short interruption of his lead while he made a quick pit stop. It was the Lotus of Romain Grosjean that put in a sterling effort only to see Vettel bring out his leave-it-to-the-last antics once again and produce the fastest lap time really late in the race.

Once again it was tyres that played their crucial role with Merc's Hamilton being forced into degradation limitation mode as his tyres started to wear considerably.

A sad time with Mark Webber talking about exiting Formula 1 Racing, he only managed to take third place behind the absent Kimi Raikonnen's teammate from Lotus, Grosjean.

With just one race left in the season, Brazil holds few surprises as Vettel lines up Alberto Ascari's record of nine straight wins. Vettel's points stand at 372 with Alonso in second place on 227. Lewis went ahead of Romain and scooped third place with 187 to his 183 and Webber hangs onto fourth place with 181.

The Constructor's title has Red Bull on a massive 553 points trailed by Mercedes on 348, Ferrari on 333 and Lotus on 315.
