Oceans Umhlanga Launched

Oceans Umhlanga Launched

Date: 2015-12-18
King Goodwill Zwelethini, Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba and fifty three members of the media gathered at the historic launch of the R3.1-Billion Oceans Umhlanga development. Umhlanga Village came to a standstill last Thursday morning as the great drama and fanfare played out at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The Dubai style, world class project is the largest private sector investment in development history in KZN and is the brainchild of local entrepreneur Vivian Reddy and Rob Alexander of Edison and Ducatus Property Groups.

The iconic complex will feature two towers with 460 sea-facing apartments, including penthouses, as well as a world-class shopping mall with 100 stores, that has already attracted top global superbrands, like Versace, Burberry, Armani and Paul Smith.

"With Oceans Umhlanga we bring the big hitters - the super-brands. The presence of these brands places us among the top three exclusive malls in the country, alongside Cape Town's V&A Waterfront and Johannesburg's Sandton City. Let's face it, this project changes the face of uMhlanga. We are literally converting a village into a metropolis. The scale of this project is immense, so it will dominate the Umhlanga CBD. In fact, it turns the village on its head. People are going to be spinning when they see it." Said Reddy, he assured everyone that the development will bring in more style, class and attitude.

This unparalelled development is signatured by two magnificent residence towers, consisting of 460 elegantly designed apartments and penthouses, all boasting panoramic sea views, creating a living experience beyond compare.

This unique confluence of lifestyle and leisure is further enhanced by a luxurious internationally branded hotel, which ensures a vibrant and enriching way of life.

The project will create 15000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and 2500 jobs thereafter. In the launching of the project King Goodwill Zwelithini said he was please that the developers has chosen to invest in the city. "It is the people like the Reddys and the Alexanders who ensure that we take a lead in development not just in South Africa but on the African continent." Concluded the King.
