Robin Hood Foundation fundraiser at the Sneddon

Robin Hood Foundation fundraiser at the Sneddon

Date: 2015-07-31
The Robin Hood Foundation hosted a fundraising event at the popular PANSA young performers production of 'Soldiers of the City', created by Themi Venturas, Iain 'Ewok' Robinson and Lucky Cele. 'Soldiers in the City' is about two best friends, both excellent poets, competing in an underground slam poetry challenge, where they realise that words can be sharper, and more dangerous, than swords, and forgiveness and loyalty is more valuable than glory.

The aim of the fundraising event was to assist the Robin Hood Foundation's fight against poverty and despair. ''As part of our tenth anniversary celebrations we have planned weekly projects aimed at alleviating poverty and bringing hope to those in need,'' explains Kim Griffith Jones, coordinator of the Robin Hood Foundation.

A fantastic evening was had by the 350 guests with over R20 000's worth of prizes being given away in the raffle draw. The Robin Hood Foundation would like to thank their supporters for attending, their generous prize sponsors and Des Swan Photography for taking social photos.
