Date: 2018-05-18
Stars of popular local reality TV show Uthando Nes'thembu "Love and Polygamy", have opened their traditional homestead in the rural Madlala area of Umzumbe for guided tours. Uthando Nes'thembu gets up close and personal with polygamist business Musa Mseleku and his four wives, affectionately called MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo and MaNgwabe. They collectively have 10 children.
Ugu South Coast Tourism have partnered with Mseleku and his family to bring a new and exciting tourism route to the area - Uthando Nes'thembu Homestead Tours. This route has been sparked off as a result of the popular show which is ranked the number one reality show in the country. Says Mseleku 'We receive visitors who come to our house unannounced. We understand that people love us and are fascinated by our lifestyle."
Mseleku elaborated that "With the partnership that they now have with Ugu South Coast Tourism, the public will now be able to make proper bookings to avoid disappointment of not being catered to accordingly".
Ugu South Coast Tourism General Manager, Mazethu Zondi says that the piqued interest in the Mseleku family has been a driver to packaging this route for tourists. "The South Coast has more to offer than the ocean. We have tailor made four routes under the Great Drives Out Initiative. They include the Kwaxolo caves, Kwanzimakwe and Nyandeluzulu cultural experience as well as the Uthando Nes'thembu homestead tours."
Zondi added that the purpose of these routes was to give tourists an experience of the rural lifestyle and to discover the beauty that is the South Coast.
Arrangements to explore the routes can be made with the Hibberdene Visitor Information Office, from where the tours will start, currently available on Fridays only of 10h00 with last tours strictly finished at 14h00.
