The fourth edition of the ever-popularCarols Go Jazzfestive season concert will take place at Howard College Theatre, University of KwaZulu-Natal on December 19 and 20 at 7pm with celebrated award-winning singers Zarcia Zacheus and Sandile Gontsana taking to the stage.

"Carols Go Jazz is a fusion of jazz mussic and timeless Christmas Carol classics with a jazz swing" says producer Mahlasela Nhlengetwa. Carols Go Jazz began in 2009 and was staged over three nights with Thulile Zama of the all-girl band Heels Over Head. The following year brought a national tour around South Africa with performances at Howard College in Durban, Broadway Theatre in Cape Town and The State Theatre in Tswane, with performances from award-winning Melanie Scholtz, world-acclaimed pianist Sylvester Mazinyaye and Zarcia Zacheus.

Zarcia returns to Durban for this year'sCarol Go Jazzto team up with the smooth jazz singer Sandile Gontsanawith Unlocked Keys, a five-piece local band,in what promises to be an evening to be remembered.

Zarcia began her music career in church at the age of 9 and has performed and recorded alongside Joyous Celebration, Patrick Duncan, Feya Faku and many more South African music icons. Her blend of Gospel, Jazz and African elements is soulful, fresh and making her performances quite an exhilarating experience.

Joining her on stage is the charming jazz singer, Sandile Gontsana whose mellow and ardent voice is hauntingly emotive. Born in Gugulethu, Cape Town and the nephew of the late great drummer Lulu Gontsana, Sandile started singing at the age of 13. Sandile enrolled into the Cape Town School of Music in 2004, studying African Music under the world renowned musician and multi-Instrumental Dizu Platjies and singer Lungiswa Platjies. Sandile Gontsana's music has taken him to Spain in 2008 and he also toured South Africa as the lead singer of the Standard Bank National Youth Band.
