Mayoral staff bursary handover

Date: 2013-01-23
KwaDukuza Mayor Cllr. Ricardo Mthembu has been unanimously applauded by his municipal employees saying that he is a Good Samaritan and a real 'People's Mayor.'

This was re-affirmed during the KwaDukuza Municipality (KDM) Employees' Mayoral Bursary Handover ceremony, held at the municipal Supper Room on Monday, 21 January 2013.

A total of 32 KDM employees from the six (6) municipal Directorates were awarded with bursaries to further their tertiary studies during 2013 academic year.

'The local government is now transformed' 'We must also understand the challenges being faced by the local government, 'says Mthembu as he puts a smile on the faces of his academically deserving bursary recipients.

'We have faith in you.' 'We must all think developmentally and develop our people educationally and otherwise, for the government's poverty alleviation efforts to materialise, he added. 'As the government we are more than prepared to contribute positively in education since it is the only key for success.'

One of the bursary recipients, Zweli Bonginkosi Zungu had this to say, 'We thank the Mayor Cllr. Mthembu from the core of our hearts.' 'This historic event will definitely change our lives for the better.' 'We will in the near future formally declare this organisation as our municipality of choice, Zungu concluded boldly.
