Hospice seriously needs donations

Hospice seriously needs donations

Date: 2015-01-23

January has been a looooooong month, and it also has a financial impact on our Hospice shops. People were paid in the middle of December and will only be paid next week again, so it has been a looooooong 6 week month.

Khanya Hospice Shops are waiting desperately for your kind donation of cash (if you would like to donate cash) Clothes, Brick-a-brac, cutlery, crockery, furniture, garden tools, garden furniture and equipment, sport and gym equipment, and "what-have-you-to-give-away.

Hospice does not get any government subsidy and put the donated items up for sale in one of our Hospice Shops, and the money generated by the shops, helps sustain the free Palliative Nursing Care that Hospice offers and the free support to the family of the patients. Our nursing staff goes into the rural areas and have to walk 2-3 km as there are no roads.

We need to maintain our vehicles, as we cannot let our nursing staff get stuck on the roads. Please think of Hospice if and when you clean and clear your cupboards, or move house and home, scaling down, going smaller - just donate to Hospice.

There is a "drop-off" place in Ballito - please call Helene 0836560864. Anyone wanting to make a donation to Hospice can call 039973 0277/1783 or manager@khanyahospice.org.za
