Two Great Durban Markets Coming Up!

Two Great Durban Markets Coming Up!

Date: 2014-02-28
Darryl Hofmann and his Whole Food team will be hosting two great markets: the Bulwer Food and Craft Lovers Market in Bulwer Park, Glenwood, on Sunday 2 March and the Durban Night Market on the grounds of Docklands Hotel on Thursday 6 March 2014.

Hofmann, supported by the Glenwood Community Forum, has put together two innovative markets - a morning market involving good food and family activities. The focus will be on fresh and fabulous food. Hofmann has carefully chosen stall holders to create a deli-vibe - allowing visitors to purchase produce from the stalls, and assemble a meal picnic style. Included in the stallholders mix is fresh and fabulous foods; hand-made craft and decor items; gift ideas; collectables and bric-brac; new and vintage garments; old and new books; leather craft and stalls supporting various charities and NGOs.

Proving laid back acoustic vibes as a Sunday morning sound-track will be Campbell Colledge: a local photographer with a passion for music who plays acoustic guitar and sings. He performs covers and original composition. His inspiration comes from singer/ songwriters Jon Foreman and Marcus Mumford.

There will be fun activities for the kids, and the children's play area is operational.

The Night Market continues in the Three Cities Docklands Hotel's charming retro courtyard. The range of products on display is evolving to focus on Durban's top creative and funky, cutting-edge design, handcrafted and bespoke items. The vendor mix will include lighting ideas, decor items, restoration services, furniture, fine artists, personal accessories - and of course festive fare. The Docklands restaurant and WODKA will be open for dinner. There will also be a selection of food and beverage stalls available.

Part of the attraction of the Night Markets is the fabulous open air live music on offer. This time music will be courtesy of three local music outfits: Hyde and the Resistance; Chloe Clark and Nje.

Three Cities Docklands Hotel can be found at the corner of Mahatma Gandhi and Browns Avenue. There is ample parking at Docklands- with additional security.

This proactive initiative continues the vision of Hofmann to offer a series of inspired gourmet-events in interesting places.
