Vishwashakti hosts Yoga on the Beach

Vishwashakti hosts Yoga on the Beach

Date: 2017-04-28

Exercising outdoors is full of benefits, the changing scenery keeps your mind engaged and the fresh air is good for your emotional wellbeing, but the beach in particular, is a great place to work out.

Just like a Bosu ball trainer the sand is constantly shifting and changing, demanding various muscles in the body to come into play. Yoga on the beach is really beneficial says Kamal Maharaj CEO of Vishwaskati and yoga instructor.

The heat from the sand is also relaxing to the muscles. This past Sunday Vishwaskati, a communityyouth development and cultural and spiritual awareness organisation based in Tongaat held a very successful Yoga programme on the shores of the beach in Tinley Manor.

It was attended by just over 80 individuals ranging from 5 year olds to senior citizens. It was a enduring 1 hour workout that was thoroughly enjoyed by all especially with the relaxing sound of the waves.

This was followed by a beach hike and a healthy breakfast. Last month Vishwaskati held Yoga in the park at Botanical Gardens in Durban. They plan to host a programme every month at different venues.

For more details on activities offered by Vishwaskati contact SASHIKA Naidu on 032 - 945 4704.
